FAQ

Read these before you go

How many days is recovery, and how soon can I fly home?

It varies by procedure: injectables and lasers about 4-5 days; minor surgery such as double-eyelid or rhinoplasty, at least 7 days of observation. For major surgery like facial bone contouring, facelift, liposuction and breast augmentation, we suggest staying in Taiwan 10-14 days or more, returning after the acute swelling has passed.

Long-haul flights worsen swelling and clot risk; actual timing follows your treating physician's instructions, and Far From Home Care arranges your airport drop-off around your follow-up schedule.

What does your service include and not include?

Included: daily-living assistance, care-time reminders, bilingual communication, follow-up accompaniment, private transfers, 24-hour emergency contact, plus add-ons such as post-surgery meals, in-room hair washing, nail care and recovery-hotel booking.

Not included: wound care, dressing changes, injections, medication guidance or medical assessment of your condition. These are medical acts governed by the Medical Care Act, performed by your clinic or a partner physician — Far From Home Care does not touch them.

I don't want anyone to know — can it stay discreet throughout?

Yes. All concierges and partner drivers sign an NDA, and we never disclose client identities, procedures or accommodation.

We prefer private vehicles and avoid busy lobby hours; add-on in-room hair washing and nail care are done in your room, reducing exposure from going out.

If something feels wrong late at night, can I reach someone?

Yes. Your dedicated concierge is reachable throughout, HQ is on call 24 hours, and someone responds even in the early hours.

For situations you can't judge yourself, we immediately help you reach your clinic or partner medical resources, and accompany you to the ER if needed. You won't have to explain your surgery to strangers in a second language.

Clinics usually provide aftercare — why do I still need you?

Clinic follow-up mostly covers the medical side — the wound and recovery progress. Eating, lodging, getting around, washing, reminders and night-time company once you're back need to be arranged separately.

Far From Home Care fills that gap in daily care — especially for clients travelling alone, not wanting to trouble local friends, or unfamiliar with the language, sparing you from arranging it all yourself.

How do I start booking, and how far ahead?

We suggest contacting us 2-4 weeks before your surgery date, so we can fully arrange a video introduction with your concierge, the recovery hotel, transfers and meals.

Tap "Book a one-on-one consultation" at the top or bottom of the page, leave your needs via your preferred channel, and we'll confirm the surgery arrangements and care details in a one-on-one video call.
